Malibu Castle Kashan
It’s utterly unbelievable to me that even though wildfires can destroy acres in mere hours people still pitch cigarette butts out the window. Smokers are a dying breed, (pun intended) and pressures to restrict the public areas where puffers can enjoy their butts are making them extinct by the minute.
Why do seemingly affluent, (driving a gold jaguar) educated, (UCLA frame on rear plate) and attractive (I made direct eye contact with a gorgeous 30ish Bruin) residents of California not understand the severely negative implications of throwing cigarettes out of car windows? I guess the only reason they do it is because they don’t want to spoil the ashtray in their car. Let’s put it into perspective… one smelly ashtray vs. the hillsides of Malibu? I’m not just picking on UCLA alumni, there are plenty more self serving irresponsible Californians that went to other fine Universities. I see butts flying on a far too regular basis.
Solution? HUGE fines, public humiliation, visitation with the grieving children of a fallen firefighter or the victim who has lost all possessions and roof overhead… Can I have a 1-800# where I can report these idiots? I see signs on the highway that say dial 911 to report a drunk driver, how about a number to report litterbugs and fire starters.
