A little bit about Alison Richards…

Ali at Work

Founder and creator of the Film Co-Op, Alison has developed a whole new breed of filmmaking. A hybrid of traditional studio and independent production houses, the Co-Op is a place where artists can band together joining forces to produce film, events and videos. Alison has an eye for talent and her natural business savvy has aided her in creating a forceful new company. In the past Alison was considered a one woman production studio; from pen to screen and everything in between. A writing career developed into a hosting and producing position at a Vancouver television station nearly two decades ago. Since then Alison has produced and directed award winning documentaries, feature films, commercials, and music videos. F-Stops, her first feature film, won the Remy Award for best suspense thriller in Houston at Worldfest; and her documentary, Every 15 Minutes, is viewed by California High School students. Alison is dedicated to producing and directing socially responsible programming. She feels driven to produce highly entertaining yet thought provoking projects that will shake people up. (Bellies and heads) “There’s power in numbers”, Alison has gathered together an incredibly talented team to share in her endeavors.

A letter from Michelle Flowers…

Michelle Flowers

I am so pleased to assist Alison Richards with the Film Co-Op. As an actor and writer, I see it as an opportunity to connect with other artists, and to collaborate on projects. It reminds me of a 48-hour movie that I recently created with friends. It was an exhilarating experience and it empowered me to develop other projects. I am currently writing a feature-length screenplay, and I aim to share it with the co-op in later stages. I hope that we can work together to bring my film to life, as well as the films of other artists in the Co-Op!

Best wishes,
Michelle Flowers

So…here it is. The blog that we promised you. It’s getting rolling and we hope that you will find it to be an interesting and informative resource. But let me ask you, how do you think this blog should go about creating links within our artistic community? What do you want to get out of it? Would you like to contribute articles? Notices? Images? Film/video clips? Links to professional websites, etc?
